The Big Finish

The Voice. Naomi Ackie did an excellent job in her portrayal of icon Whitney Houston and would like to see more from her. The performance re-enactments were all shot well and with modern technology really gave them a different aesthetic. I really liked how this movie did not shy away from aspects of Whitney’s life that molded her. Such as her rumored lesbian relationship, feelings on how she was viewed from black audiences and her drug usage. I would have liked to see more creativeness with the overall style and could have gone more in depth on certain plot points to prevent it from being a standard biopic. Overall I Wanna Dance With Somebody is entertaining and a tribute to a once in a lifetime singer.
